These carpets are often characterized by straightforward compositions, which will often feature ivory fields and dark brown line work. These characteristics are especially prevalent in Beni Ourain Moroccan rugs. Meanwhile, other examples tend to express more tribal design aesthetics, often featuring eccentric and idiosyncratic geometric figures, laid out in an unpredictable and exciting manner.
